The new updates have gone live this morning and are available through the App Store.

Both apps should now work with O2 accounts.

EirText Pro users can now use the message scheduling feature directly from the app.

If you’re having login issues, it is probably due to the O2 server being unavailable.

Updates for both versions of EirText have been submitted to Apple. Expect to see them available within a week. These updates fix O2 message sending.

Another Update: Just heard the *ding ding* of my iPhone. Successfully sent a test message. No working app just yet, but a tiny bit of progress has been made!

Update: O2 have upgraded the webtext section on their website. This has completely broken all O2 support within EirText & EirText Pro. I am aware of the issue and am investigating whether this can be fixed or not.

O2 are upgrading their webtext site this Saturday. This could potentially break EirText & EirText Pro.

If it does break the app, I will work on updating the app with a fix ASAP.

Apple have been kind enough to rush out a critical update that fixes issues with EirText Pro when sending to international numbers for O2 users.

Wow, kudos to you, Apple! Yep, the new version of EirText Pro is now available to download from the App Store.

So I have some good news and some bad news…

Good news: EirText Pro v1.2 has been submitted to Apple for approval and should be available soon.

Bad news: ClipBoard had been delayed ever so slightly. I have to fix a couple of small bugs and I’m also waiting to get artwork sorted out (why Apple insist that all artwork has to be submitted before the lengthy approval process is beyond me).

Finally, I just want to say thanks again to the kind folks who have been testing the updates for me. You’ve been a huge help!

I haven’t updated in a week, so I’d just like to give a general update on the status of the apps.

EirText Pro: I’ve updated the icon, moved the + button ever so slightly, added ClipBoard support, improved the character counter, fixed some scrolling issues, added a switch for the Audio & Vibe, and improved the login test for O2 and Meteor. There are a couple of bugs that have popped up in Beta testing, which I will fix ASAP. As soon as that is done, I’ll be submitting the update to Apple. Fingers crossed, we’re looking at an update in approximately two weeks.

ClipBoard: The first Beta has been made available for testing. Most functionality has been added already, so I’m hoping that the next week or so will be dedicated to squashing a few bugs (most of which are memory related - it’s proving very difficult to process a lot of text on the iPhone as RAM is quite limited). I’m not even going to guess how long App Store approval will take…

So just a quick update to say that I’ve been working on a new app recently… Copy and Paste for the iPhone.

I have a working demo running on my iPhone and it’s linked in well with EirText Pro and a number of other apps.

I can’t give away too much right now, because of the NDA and also because I don’t want anyone nicking my ideas. I’m hoping to make this available for Beta testing soon, with an aim to release this within the next couple of weeks. As with EirText, it will start off on free trial and then move to paid after a certain number of downloads.

I’m quite excited about how this has all panned out and am dying to get this app out there, but I have to make sure it’s working properly before it disappears into the App Store approval Black Hole.

Some people have been commenting on the quality of the new artwork in the EirText apps, and I figured giving them a mention was long overdue. EirText Pro 1.1 is now ready for download. This new version includes major bugfixes along with a few new features and updated graphics.
