Well done, great to have some Irish content on the app store. One thought though – would you be interested in a new icon? No offense but I’m not really digging the shamrock. I’m a graphic designer and would love to offer my services to you for free. Get in touch if your interested.

great great app, so simple and east to use. Let me know if you have anything else in the pipeline!

Great app. Can’t praise it enough. Just a few niggles – the “done” button when you add your login details doesn’t really seem to do anything. Also, it’d be nice to seem number of characters remaining and it’d be nice to be able to send the same message to several people (maybe you can already?)…but they’re small things really.

top app – looking forward to seeing what else you post. Will be donating once I set up a paypay account.

Thanks to everyone for all the kind words. EirText has been hugely successful and last I checked it was the number 1 free app in the Irish App Store. Not bad at all!

@ Shane: The Done button writes any settings changes to disk. It isn’t really necessary and is a remnant from when the app was in early development. I’ll look into putting it to better use if I can think of a reason to use it.

Thanks for the other suggestions, I’ll definitely add them to my To Do list.

Thanks for the support, I really appreciate it.

Class idea! Any chance of a port to the e61, but I don’t even know how it would work, as a Java applet?

If not, it could finally give me an excuse to pick up an iphone!

Thanks for a cute little App – it makes webtexts convenient enough that you’d be mad to use anything else… And perhaps even begs the question as to why they aren’t just integrated as normal texts… But that’s O2′s decision, I suppose.

One little niggle though – you’re probably aware, but as far as I can tell, texts don’t get properly sent unless all the digits in the number are continguous ie +3538XXXXXXXX instead of +353 8XXXXXXXX. Unfortunately, my Address Book on the iPhone seems to default to formatting them with the space (I store my numbers in international format), and so I have to delete it every time… Any chance of a fix?

Again, thanks! And a pint’s on its way either way, once my Paypal account stops acting up.

    Hey man,

Just like many said before – simple but brilliant app. But I do have one concern over it. Let’s say I have an o2 account with my credit cards stored on it for easyer topup. What are the chances that you or someone else who would have access to your app will not take my username and password and go and top up their own account for 1000eur? Would appreciate if you could clear that out for me.

    Thanks
    T.

Hi Vinny I have just bought the latest version from my Itouch but I cannot get it to work. When I attempt to send a message it reverts back to the main menu. What is the problem? Suggestions pse. I am an 02 Customer so I have set the preference for them.

    Pse advise.

Hi Dorothy, are you using an iPhone or iPod? Did you update using iTunes recently to firmware 2.1?

    Hi,
I just downloaded the Pro version to my iTouch. I am a Vodafone customer. Is there any easy way for me to import the contacts list I have on the Vodafone webtext site into my iTouch? Thanks for your assistance and a great app. Regards, Pat
